Anti Aging Skin Care – Tips And Common Sense

Tuesday, February 2nd, 2010

As we have a tendency to get on in years, who isn’t making an attempt to stay young, to carry the line on aging? And where do we tend to see our age and fret our age more, than in our skin? I’d like to share with you some general anti aging skin care treatment that will

keep your skin young and healthy, and recommend some natural anti aging skin products that build a massive distinction as well.

The health of our skin reflects many factors. Some we will’t control, however others we tend to will and

should. Heredity and environment, for example, may be operating against you. But you’re not going to go away the city simply to urge clean, dewy skin. And if a bound swarthiness is in your genes, there’s not a lot

of you can do regarding it. But let’s take a look at the anti aging skin care that

you simply CAN do – and there’s a ton – to bring your skin to a whole new level.

Water – Water – yes water – is your best anti aging medicine. You would like to drink a minimum of 8 full glasses of spring or well water daily. Your body is

75% water, and your skin may be a moist, elastic medium that needs to be kept hydrated naturally – from within. Your skin’s thirst for this inner

hydration will’t be happy by just rubbing in creams or lotions on the outside. You wish to follow this “initial commandment of skin care”

if you would like to get the super edges that anti aging creams and other products

conjointly offer.

Natural Creams – Several anti aging creams – even the foremost expensive ones – have a base of mineral oil, and are loaded with artificial preservatives and coloring. Just study the labels. You need bifocals and a lab coat simply to read them! Need I say

additional? I get many compliments on my soft skin, and invariably the identical query: what do you employ on it? First I tell people regarding water, lots of recent air and

exercise, and moderate exposure to sunlight. Then I buy down to specific anti aging solutions.

Real Aloe Vera – Heaps of products boast that they contain aloe vera – so why do we suppose we will improve upon nature? I am going right to the source, and keep an aloe vera plant growing in my bathroom. It’s a reasonably

plant, it’s easy to care for, and you just discontinue a piece of leaf and

out gushes the wonderful contemporary gel. My friends and nursing colleagues all report the identical excitement the first time they rub in an

exceedingly gel directly from their plants. And they report that it’s the best anti aging product they’ve ever used – and one that you

only can’t get from a store-bought jar or tube.

Aloe vera is actually potent. It’s stuffed with moisture, protein, vitamins and minerals – antiaging nutrients that give your skin deep, thorough hydration.

Cleopatra is understood to have used aloe vera on her skin, and if you overlook her very little snake bite, you must admit: she

was quite successful story!

Olive Oil – When my skin is very dry I conjointly apply olive oil, and use olive oil soap over my entire body. Of course, such were the wonderful results I got from olive oil, that I created my own anti aging personal care cosmetic – a soap which is ninety% olive oil, and smooth beyond

belief. (Aloe vera, oddly enough, will generally create a superficial drying impact, which olive oil quickly smoothes out.) Besides anti aging

effects, aloe vera adds proteins, minerals and water to your skin.

Application of Creams – I forever tell friends to not rub in their oils and creams in an exceedingly bored hum-drum

way. You need to really massage it in, giving yourself pleasure and stimulating your circulation. Indeed - it’s best to create all

your health practices emotional. It’s this zest that produces the magic connection between body, mind, heart and soul. So –

once we’re operating to create ourselves younger and prettier, please ladies - let’s make it an anti aging exercise - not act as if

we tend to’re ironing socks!

Natural Progesterone Cream – We have a tendency to mention this last, but positively not least, for it is really the “Queen” of anti

aging products. This all-natural cream suffuses your body with progesterone, the anti aging hormone that turns girls into ladies and gives that stunning glow to pregnant women. A natural progesterone hormone cream, such as Prosperine, delivers the right dosage of progesterone derived from the Mexican

wild yam. Besides providing a protective quality against breast cancer, it splendidly tones your skin and retards the aging process. Like drinking water, this is an approach that works from the within out – the right approach, the natural way.

Eating Organically

Saturday, July 18th, 2009

The benefits of organic foods become apparent to anyone concerned with the downside of the highly processed food. When we refer to the difference between conventional and organic food, we don’t necessarily imply that between an apple grown organically and another regular one. What needs to be insisted on consists in the real benefits of organic foods for health first and foremost.

Want to live a healthier lifestyle?

Organic food represents part of the recommended diet for people who suffer from various chronic conditions like cancer for instance. Although lots of people claim that there is little difference in terms of nutrients, the absence of hormones and chemicals from organic food works great for the promotion of a state of well-being. Lots of consumer analyses do not refer to the difference in nutritional value, there are studies however that indicate superior characteristics and more benefits of organic foods in the first place.

Click here for more information on nutrition

There are more trace minerals, superior amounts of vitamin C and considerably more anti-oxidant substances, and this is to count just a few of the benefits of organic foods. A report made by the US Department of Agriculture shows that a significant decline has been registered in the level of minerals of the non-organic crops since 1940. The present-day extensive storage and the intense processing of the crops further lowers the quality of conventional foods.

The higher content of dry matter is one other of the benefits of organic foods. Under the influence of fertilizers, there is a higher water retention in fruits and vegetables. Thus, there is less food in the form of dry matter in a non-organic apple than in an organic one. Nevertheless, besides the superiority of nutrients, there are other advantages to organic food.

First of all, virtually no pesticide residues can be traced in organic products. Even if conventional food producers claim that pesticides are no threat to human health, one doesn’t have to be all knowledgeable to realize that the ingestion of anything chemical cannot help or be 100% safe for the system. The benefits of organic foods are much insisted on at present, with more and more consumers choosing them instead of conventional foods. In time this preference will definitely trigger a reorientation of the market and even a redefinition of the standards that define organic food in the first place.

LONGEVITY SECRETS

Saturday, May 16th, 2009

Longevity has been a quest by many people for aeons of time. The purpose of the Longevity Reference & Directory is to present proven strategies for life extension from all over the world. There are pockets of the world’s population where people live much longer than the longevity nations (China, Japan, Korea) such as the Hunzas in the Himalayas, the Vilcambas in the Andes, the Abkhasians and Georgians on the Black Sea, the East Indian Todas and the Yucatan Indians. Researchers tracking cultures living the longest have found that its not unusual for these peoples to live a life of quality. Work and play beyond 80 years and beyond is typical. A majority, attain 100 years remaining active and honored by all they live with. Here are the longevity habits of these people. Sections that will be covered are the main pillars of longevity health

  1. Longevity Supplements
  2. Sleep
  3. Stress Reduction
  4. Exercize
  5. Nutrition & Water
  6. Positive Mental Attitude
  7. Environment

THE 7 PILLARS TO A LONGER, HEALTHIER LIFE

  1. SLEEP

Sleep more, age less…Sleep is not an optional activity. It is as essential to life as water and food and is essential for a strong immune system.

Any book dedicated to the topic of aging will cite the necessity for enough sleep, which is 7-9 hours.

There is a strong relationship between deep sleep and the release of Growth Hormone as well. It is during sleep that adults secrete the greatest amount of HGH.

2. STRESS REDUCTION

You cannot deny the health benefits of stress reduction.

Stress reduction can go a long way in reducing symptoms of aging along with the onset of disease.

In a recent article by Dr. Paul E. Lemanski from the Albany Medical College writes,

‘Stress causes the release of ‘fight or flight’ hormones which increase blood flow to our large muscles, increase our heart rate, respirations and blood pressure, and decreases blood flow to the gastrointestinal tract including the saliva glands.

3. EXERCISE

In the 1998 book called ‘Successful Aging’ a summary of the MacArthur Foundation study on aging in America, which had begin in 1987, showed that almost all healthy seniors had been physically active throughout their life.

Dr. Andrew Weil, a well-known proponent of alternative or complementary medicine and the author of, ‘Healthy Aging’, supports the idea that up until modern times, humans have almost always been physically active, simply by surviving off the land. Today we work off computers. Bottom line is that we need some form of daily exercise. Any yes, walking counts, if done briskly.

4. NUTRITION

In the interest of keeping this newsletter brief, but informative, I think I can say with confidence that long elaboration on this pillar is not necessary. We all know the importance of good nutrition and a balanced diet.

However, I can cite many studies that suggest that the Mediterranean Diet is among the healthiest in the world with its fruits, vegetables, legumes, cereals and fish, mild to moderate amounts of alcohol and low amounts of red meat and dairy products, not to mention lots of healthy fats like olive oil.

5. WATER

Like that of nutrition, lots can be said and studies can be cited all day long as to which type of water is best for us.
One thing is for sure however. Drinking ‘enough’ (and that is the keyword) water on a daily basis is essential for proper elimination and detoxification.

6. SUPPLEMENTATION

Today it is becoming very hard to argue against proper supplementation in order to maintain health. Skeptics are falling like flies in the light of all the convincing studies that show the importance of proper supplementation.

It seems we always need studies to confirm what common sense naturally tells us and studies are abound.

Many well-respected scientists, researchers, and medical professionals have discovered the relationship between mineral deficiencies and a wide variety of health conditions, which afflict the human body.

Our soils just don’t have the minerals necessary for optimal healthfulness, so supplementation is crucial.

Herb medicine is another beneficial natural source of highly mineralized, vitaminized food. Besides the health engendering alkalods contained there are dense nutrients which provides the human body the potential for correction. The key is the knowledge of the practitioner and chooser of the herbs essential for balance to be achieved.

7. POSITIVE MENTAL ATTITUDE

In the book ‘power of positive thinking’ Norman Peale writes that having faith in yourself makes good things happen to you. This same theme has been written about over and over, each book with a different angle, but with the same basic, underlying message.

There are of course other pillars to support a long and healthy life, but these are what we consider the most fundamental. More in-depth information can be found at “Longevity Secrets“

“Nuts For Your Health”

Saturday, April 25th, 2009

Living “green” has become a very popular topic right now. People are quickly realizing that we need to take care of our bodies naturally to improve our health and to lose weight permanently.

Raw nuts such as almonds and walnuts are a must for holistic weight loss. You can actually shed unwanted pounds by strategically eating these throughout the day.

Eating raw nuts do not create the calorie intake that you’d expect because 5% to 15% of calories are not absorbed by your body. This is due to the skin on the nut and how well the nut is chewed up in your mouth. Both have a tendency to influence digestion. The slow release of calories leads to giving you the feeling of fullness.

All nuts are high in protein and healthy fats. Out of all of the different types of nuts, almonds and walnuts are the healthiest.

What will eating raw nuts do to improve your health and decrease your weight? Build muscle. In addition to having protein, almonds have an adequate amount of magnesium, which is crucial to building muscle.  Fight cravings by eating 24 almonds for a snack or before a meal then immediately follow them with a  drink of 8 ounces of water which will suppress your appetite. The water causes the fiber to expand in your stomach making you feel more full.

Major nutritional factors in almonds: fiber, potassium, vitamin E,  magnesium, phosphorus, calcium, iron, monounsaturated fats

Alternatives: pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, avocados

Avoid these: smoked nuts, peanuts, salted nuts

How to introduce into your diet:

  • Carry a small bag of nuts with you to snack on.
  • Put a small handful in your blender when making a smoothie.
  • Add chopped nuts to your ice cream.
  • Eat a small handful of raw nuts 15 min before your meal to curb your appetite
  • Add chopped nuts to a bowl of fresh fruit

Resveratrol Supplement Information

Saturday, April 18th, 2009

Resveratrol is the latest health craze related to anti-aging. For several years now more and more, studies are proving that resveratrol supplements can slow down the aging process. Aging is the process through which human’s bodies deteriorate. Metabolic processes and physiological functions slow down. The rate of slowing can be changed with the antioxidants like resveratrol.

More and more studies on resveratrol are uncovering the tangible benefits of this element of red wine, including anti-cancer and anti-aging properties. In short, resveratrol brings back to life a gene within all living cells that provides that cell with more time to fix itself.

From Oprah to 60 Minuets to Barbara Walter, major media outlets have highlighted the studies on resveratrol that point to the anti-aging benefits. These tv shows have interviewed the doctors and researchers that have proven the effects of resveratrol in living cells. These tv shows have profiled the companies that are making these resveratrol supplements. Resveratrol is the next antioxidant that has the potential to make longer, healthier lives more possible.

The research into resveratrol suggests that it is a powerful antioxidant that helps to mitigate the damaging effects of free radicals in the body, and also may induce a process through which extended life will be more than a possibility. One effect of the antioxidant resveratrol is on arteries. Research suggests that resveratrol brings down blood pressure by increasing blood flow.

Antioxidants mediates the damage that free radicals inflict on cells. Diseases such as diabetes, heart disease, Alzheimer’s, cancer and Parkinson’s can be slowed by the introduction of antioxidants.

Resveratrol is found in several organic sources, such as peanuts, red wine, grapes and blueberries among other items. Grapes, particularly the Muscadine, have the highest concentration of resveratrol. Though nothing comes close to the amount of resveratrol in supplements. These capsules have been filled with resveratrol. To get comparable amounts of resveratrol one would need to consumer hundreds if not thousands of bottles of red wine per day. Of course, this is not a feasible option.

Many supplements exist that contain this newly discovered antioxidant, resveratrol, which some are calling “The Fountain of Youth” that also includes other important anti-oxidants. The number of these supplements is increasing every month as more and more people are looking to introduce them into their daily intake. Though there are many companies that don’t put enough resveratrol or the resveratrol they do create has a low bioavailability. This means that not much resveratrol actually reaches the body.

There are very few elements such as resveratrol. The growing number of positive studies and increasing amount of fundung for product development means that resveratrol has not yet reached its full potential.
